At the heart of the Heritage Hen Collective is a simple idea:

The Heritage Hen Collective is a community-supported preservation and education project that brings people together through shared stewardship, hands-on learning, and the care of a shared flock.
One Shared Flock
Our hens are cared for as one shared community flock with no individual ownership. The entire program is built around shared responsibility—where a team of Flock Stewards works together to care for the flock as a whole. Flock Members support the flock with their financial commitment and have opportunities to spend time with the hens on a regular basis.
A Varitey of Ways to Belong
Whether you want to support the hens from behind the scenes, spend regular time with the flock, or take an active role in their care, there's a way to be part of the Heritage Hen Collective.
Membership Options
Our membership options are designed to offer different ways to support the flock, connect with the coop, and participate in the Collective.
Community Members — $15/month
Community Members help sustain the care of the flock, preservation of the historic coop, and community-centered programming. Members receive Heritage Credits, event discounts, priority registration, member gatherings, and seasonal opportunities to visit and experience the flock.
Flock Members — $40/month
Flock Members support the same ongoing care and preservation while enjoying a more hands-on connection with the hens. Flock Members receive weekly opportunities to spend time with the flock through Flock Visits, exclusively for Flock Members.
Flock Stewards — $65/month + initial onboarding fee
A limited number of Flock Stewards take on the greatest level of responsibility. Stewards commit to a regular weekly care shift and work together to provide the flock's year-round hands-on care. In return for their ongoing commitment, Stewards share in the flock's egg harvest when eggs are available and receive additional Steward benefits.
All memberships include your entire household.
Egg Sharing & Steward Benefits
In return for their ongoing care and commitment, Flock Stewards share in the natural output of the flock.
Eggs are divided among the Stewards. When extra eggs are available, they will be raffled off to our members and supporters through our Heritage Egg Share drawings.

Donate to the General Preservation Fund
Gifts to the General Preservation Fund will be directed toward the most needed preservation and reactivation projects as work progresses.
100% of your contribution will support preservation and reactivation efforts.
All contributors will be recognized as Founding Preservation Partners.
Contributions are available in increments of $25.
We are seeking volunteers, contractors, tradespeople, and skilled community members who are willing to contribute their time and expertise.
Current labor needs include:
Assembly of the chicken run framing system
Site and ground preparation
General carpentry and handyman work
Roof repair and maintenance
Painting and surface preparation
Landscaping and site improvements
Project coordination and construction assistance
Social media marketing
Whether you can contribute a few hours, a specialized skill, equipment, or professional services, your support can make a significant impact on the success of this project.
